Stories are all works of fiction. Names, characters, place and events are the product of the author's imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, events and places is totally coincidental
I couldn't sleep, so I got out of bed at 3.30am to try to watch the planet Venus traverse across our nearest star, the Sun. Of course at that time of morning, the sun is not visible and by the time it is morning in London, we in europe could only catch the last part of that journey live.
It is a phenomena witnessed by the people of our world twice every one hundred years. The last time was June 2004 (which made it the first in one hundred years that Venus will be positioned between the earth and the Sun), now eight years later, the planet crossed over the surface of the sun. This will not happen again until the year 2117.
Unfortunately, the sun was not visible from my place and I had to depend on the NASA website and the European Space Agency sites to look at the live feeds of this journey. There were also fantastic photos of the event on Flikr.
I wonder what the astrologists make of this phenomena, they are all probably busy raking it in.
Every time I look at pictures from outer space, it is all so wonderful. There is beauty and mystery out there that makes me give the glory to God, for we are children.
I shall return,
